The Bowls Group meets each Wednesday morning at Hawley Bowls Club at 10.30am between May and September.

The original idea of the group was to enable anyone interested in learning how to play bowls to do so without the cost of purchasing any equipment. For a fee of £3.00 per visit, the Club allows you to use the green, sets of bowls and other equipment. You will be shown the basics of bowling and have the rules of the game and the etiquette on the green explained by experienced bowls players. Several current members of our U3A Bowls group have, since learning how to play on the Tuesday sessions, gone on to purchase their own woods and also joined local clubs and now play on a regular basis.

If you would like to come along and give it a try, we would be pleased to see you, if you already play you are welcome to join us for a roll-up on Tuesday mornings.  It is a social group and the games have a friendly competitiveness about them.
